Senior Project Engineer

Project engineer (Senior) – Thornton Cleveleys – up to £68,000 + Excellent benefits package
A half billion pound plus chemical manufacturing company based in the beautiful coastal city of Cleveleys.
This is for an existing Project engineer looking to further develop their career with a multinational company known for the plastic products. With offices and career opportunities across the UK, Europe, America, and recent office built in China.

This opportunity will be working alongside the Capital project manager and will be working on small projects of £100k - £4 million. Project range from upgrade and modification projects to new build project and everything in between.
More details on the role’s responsibilities are listed below:
Own and project manage the whole project:
* Delivery with little senior management intervention
* Engineering. Manage the detail design to meet the project plan.
* Output: Efficient use of contracted design resources. Effective reviews of design documents. Design deliverables suitable for manufacture and construction
* Chair layout and constructability reviews. Output: Auditable trace of team involvement
* Procurement: Technical review of vendor quotations. Output: Clear recommendations on quotation analysis sheets
* Construction: Effective and safe construction. Victrex contact for construction contractors. Output: No reportable incidents or classified/loss time accidents.
* Workers understand site rules. Minimal reservation list at construction completion.
* Planning and expediting. Drives the EPC programme. Identifies potential slippages and implements effective corrective actions. Output: Design and construction completions on time
* Cost control. Monitors cost on items under the job holder’s control: Identifies potential cost slippages and implements effective corrective actions: Output: Orders within budget.
* Assists with the conceptual specification, design, and cost estimation to sanction quality standard. Output: Front end engineering packages suitable for sanction estimating Interaction with Stakeholders:
* Operations: Majority of major projects are capacity related so main customer. Hillhouse, Rotherham and Seal Sands sites. Site managers are project sponsors. Engineering and Production staff on project teams
* Most other departments are on project teams depending on the nature of the project (eg SHE, Core Technology, Applied Technology, Commercial, Finance)
