AP/Payment Manager

The AP/Payment Manager will lead a team focused on Accounts Payable & Payments with two team leaders as direct reports, and will be responsible for overseeing payments to suppliers and service providers. The role requires a highly organised and proactive individual with a good understanding of the professional services industry. This role will also involve leading on transformation technology projects in AP.

Description

Manage and oversee the a large transactional team covering AP, Disbursements and Payments.
To lead on the implementation of new AP invoice capture tool.
Assisting in the implementation of a new accounting system.
Establishing processes and key controls and ensuring these are documented.
Improving efficiencies using tech automation.
Reporting on KPI's to senior finance stakeholders.
Resolving AP & Payment related queries
Develop and implement improvements to payment processes.
Authorisation and approvals of daily payments.
Handle escalated issues from team members.
Foster a well-organised and positive working environment within the team.Profile

A successful AP/Payment Manager should have:

Experience in implementation of AP automation software.
Ability to motivate large transactional teams.
Strong relationships with business stakeholders.
Track record of contributing to a continuous improvement culture and the ability to challenge existing processes and methodologies.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to summarise information effectively.
High level of attention to detail with significant emphasis on quality of work.
