Position: Level 4 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Start Date: ASAP or September 2024

About: The role is based in an established SEN provision in the heart of Barnsley, committed to providing exceptional education and support to children with a range of special educational needs. The team is dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Role Overview: As a Level 4 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of the students. You will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to deliver tailored learning activities and interventions that meet the individual needs of each child. Your passion for SEN education and your ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues will be instrumental in creating a supportive and enriching learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, including complex SEMH
Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons and activities, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all students.
Implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing social and emotional skills.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to assess student progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture where diversity is celebrated and all students feel valued and respected.Requirements:

Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of SEN conditions and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
