Are you looking for a new teaching role for September? We are currently seeking Behaviour Mentor to join us ready for the Autumn term at a Good school in Manchester. Whether you're an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) looking to kickstart your teaching journey or an experienced educator seeking a new challenge, we have opportunities for you to excel and grow professionally. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the needs of our students, focusing on those who require additional guidance in managing their behaviour and developing positive social skills. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and the wider school community to implement effective behaviour management strategies, ensuring a nurturing and structured environment where all children can succeed.

At GSL Education, we work with schools all over Manchester to match good teachers with the right schools for them. We have roles available in various Offsted Good and Outstanding Primary schools.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be expected to:

Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them understand and manage their behaviour, develop self-regulation skills, and build confidence
Behaviour Management: Implement and monitor behaviour management plans tailored to individual student needs. Work with students to set achievable goals and track their progress
Group Sessions: Conduct group sessions to teach social skills, conflict resolution, and positive behaviour techniques
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education coordinators to create and maintain a consistent approach to behaviour management across the school
Parental Involvement: Engage with parents and guardians to discuss their child's progress and provide strategies to support behaviour management at home
Crisis Intervention: Respond effectively to behavioural incidents, providing immediate support and intervention while maintaining a calm and supportive presence
Documentation: Keep detailed records of student progress, incidents, and interventions, ensuring compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures
Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research and strategies in behaviour management and child development. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

A teaching qualification, QTS/PGCE
An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
Strong Behaviour Management
