2 year Knowledge Transfer Partnership leading into a full time roll with Altus Group

*This role is also eligible for up to £1000 responsibility and retention allowance*

We, at the Scientific Technologies Facilities Council, are seeking a Data Scientist to work in partnership with Altus Group- a leading provider of software, data solutions and technology-enabled services to the global commercial real estate industry, who continue to break ground every day with innovative solutions that touch every aspect of the real estate life cycle!

You will work on a project to improve an existing data pipeline with new machine learning technology. This will include crafting a database of fused data sources and developing innovative statistical and machine learning methods that provide insight for Altus. You will also report on this, and help Altus embed new data science skills in their business by working with staff and disseminating knowledge.

As a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate working at STFC, you will join a group of Data Scientists within the Hartree Centre Daresbury Laboratory. You will work with Altus Group and help transfer skills and knowledge from the Hartree teams into Altus, while also solving business problems related to Altus's digital transformation and strategy for gaining insight from data.

You will have:

  • A 2:1 degree or equivalent in a mathematical, scientific or computer science subject area or the ability to show an equivalent level of knowledge and skills
  • Experience programming Python
  • Commercial proficiency and ability to understand the needs of internal partners and external customers
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of database development, integration and machine Learning
  • Ability to communicate with confidence, with excellent spoken and written presentation skills
  • Strong planning and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a self-directed and independent manner
