Hours: Monday - Friday/ 36.25 per week

The role

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join our client on a permanent basis. The role is to process payroll for the Business so for this reason the role can be based in any of the following office locations: Axminster/ Plymouth/ Weston-Super-Mare/ Exeter or Bideford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for payroll across the Business and will have a strong level of understanding of payroll end to end.

As the Payroll Assistant you will be highly personable with excellent communication skills, have the ability to multitask and preferably possess a CIPP qualification. You will be a confident user of Word, Excel, Brightpay, Xero, QuickBooks and Sage and have previous payroll experience.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Collect, compile, and enter payroll data using appropriate software.

Calculate and post payroll deductions

Meeting Monthly deadlines

Reconcile employee deductions.

Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.

Update payroll records by recording changes including auto enrolment pension, loan payments, salary increases.

Process new employees, terminations, and transfers.

Calculate holiday entitlement.

Prepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, PAYE tax and National Insurance, auto enrolment pension, holiday.

Address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information.

Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.

Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and guidelines.

Assistance with general office administration duties from time to time.

Skills and experience sought:

Experience of payroll processing

CIPP qualified is desired

Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Brightpay, Xero, Quickbooks and Sage

Experience of working in a practice-based environment preferred but not essential.
