Job Title: Analytical Scientist – Physical Characterisation
Location: Bradford
Salary: up to 30K
The role:
• Conduct high-quality analysis based on customer requirements using cutting-edge technologies.
• Engage in client communication, ensuring clear understanding of project needs and presenting data against client requirements.
• Review data in accordance with our quality framework, contributing to the preparation of project plans, and conducting analytical work.
• Train and mentor other staff members in your area of expertise.
• Contribute to challenging laboratory-based analytical projects, including method development, validation, and drafting related documents.
• Develop project management skills on analytical projects of increasing complexity.
• Stay abreast of scientific literature to maintain and enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Operate in accordance with company values, contributing to company goals.
The candidate:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an analytical, chemical, or related scientific field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform analytical experiments with high attention to detail.
• Practical experience with at least two of the following physical characterisation techniques:
o Particle size and shape (imaging, laser diffraction)
o Droplet sizing
o Specific surface area
o Dynamic light scattering and/or nanoparticle tracking analysis; Zeta-potential
o Elemental analysis using either ICP-MS or ICP-OES
o Solid state analysis
• Inquisitive and passionate scientist with experience in a GMP and/or CRO environment.
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with a "right first time" approach.
• Initiative-driven, able to work independently, problem-solve, collaborate in teams, and multitask.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; IT literate
