Financial Controller – Nottingham NG2 – Services company- £70-80K – Hybrid working
We are working with an expanding services company who are seeking a no.2 to the CFO. If you are a skilled Financial Controller who wants to join a dynamic team in a well-established company, then this role could be what you are looking for. This role is based out of Nottingham but has the opportunity to work in London, both on a hybrid basis.
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the CFO with a “sleeves rolled up” approach. You will also be tasked with managing the staff that prepares the month-end figures, leading and managing the budget, re-forecast and year-end processes, and introducing reporting of financial data into cost centres to provide departmental budgets and monitor their effectiveness. The company is looking to double in size within the next couple of years as well as opening offices globally. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast paced and exciting company.
Key responsibilities….
You will be responsible for performing scenario-based stress testing on individual entities
You will support sales in providing valuable data for sales forecasting and looking at cost-saving among the group.
You will also be responsible for the preparation and control over various tax returns, including VAT and CT
You will liaise with key stakeholders on collation of information for the R&D report
Assist with maintaining strong relationships with the auditors and tax advisors
Support the CFO in the cash management of the group
Have a close eye on actuals v budgeted and highlighting any variances
Develop and grow the finance teamWhat the client is looking for…
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
Experience of a high-paced working environment
Strong analytical, presentation and Excel skills
Experience of developing systems to improve reporting requirements
Have a self-motivated attitude
Able to mentor and manage a team
Experience of Sage and Sales Force (although not essential)
You should have a high level of verbal reasoning, be articulate, and always seek to understand ‘why’ looking for the story behind the numbers rather than just at the number itself.What is on offer…
Basic salary of £70-80,000
