KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Civils Delivery Manager, this role will be responsible for monitoring the onsite delivery of the civil infrastructure for an FTTP network deployment project within Southend-On-Sea and Essex. The Senior Civils Supervisor will ensure that site operations are carried out on time, to specification within Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental guidelines and regulations. Promote safe working and maintain high quality of workmanship standards whilst being as efficient and cost effective as possible and lead a team of Civils Supervisors ensuring per specifications whilst adhering to best industry practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Job Specific Objectives for Role Outputs expected of the role, regulatory & legal requirements) Job Specific Objectives

· Working with the Civils Delivery Manager to complete Network build & Installations to specific deadlines, ensuring all post installations/as-built documents are completed and checked in accordance with Client/CityFibre conditions of the project.

· Complete sites walk outs/surveys including risk assessments of new sites ensuring necessary changes are reported to the project team.

· Ensure and monitor effective site operations and co-ordination of works compliant to NRSWA and Health and Safety requirements.

· Manage all aspects of Traffic Management activities on site as per NRWSA

· Ensure all work onsite is carried out to adequate standards as stated in the contractual specification by conducting site audits.

· Be responsible for your own safety and aware of the safety of your colleagues/team members and of the general public by fully complying with all procedures of the Health and Safety Handbook, carrying out safety audits, risk assessments and inspections as required.

· Responsible for ‘on the day’ delivery of all works in a Safe, Quality and On Time manner and build effective relationships with the Client/CityFibre team and the local Authority.

· Co-ordinate, capture and present the financial sign off the completed works by the teams or sub-contractor to the internal team.

· Update daily/weekly reports and review against the project delivery milestones. Highlighting any risks that may have arisen to the Civils Delivery Manager.

· Possess the ability to read and understand drawings, design schematics and duct diagrams, follow instruction given.

· Monitor the progress of projects in relation to required milestones or completion dates, giving progress updates daily or as and when required.

· To determine and allocate resources to ensure that projects are completed efficiently within predetermined timescales.

· Provide a structured and consistent approach to the Supervision of all field operatives across civils activity and coach and train the civils teams to improve the overall performance to support the business goals.

· Ensure key objectives and goals are in place with the teams in line with the business strategy.

· Have an awareness of financial impact relating to performance and compliance.

· Manage LA/HA stakeholders and attend relevant streetworks meetings as required.

· Act professionally and impartially when communicating with Clients, Cityfibre, Local Authorities, and residents.

· Liaise with residents in advance and during works to ensure awareness and reduce possible issues and confirm Advance Warning Signs are in place for each planned site of works.

· Lead by example, create an environment based on trust, an open and honest approach, motivate and drive the team’s personal performance with technical coaching support to maximise efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and safe working practices.

· Actively drive the completion of the CVI process and record via email any potential Extra Width or Hard Dig claims.

· Ensure teams have all site-specific method statements/risk assessments/equipment check forms.

· Manage the Permit to work before any team commences/finishes work to reduce risk of FPN fines.

· Walk sites with the team leaders to confirm SLG compliance before work commences and monitor throughout works to actively reduce risk of CAT A failures.

· Measure, create and deliver daily/final maps of all reinstated work and upload all relevant documentation/photos onto the server within a timely manner.

· Reporting any utility strikes or accidents to the H&S team at the time of the incident.

· Monitor team’s performance during each day highlighting team members poor quality/behaviours and report back to the Project team.

· Keep work fluid by liaising with the Civils Delivery Manager highlighting any barriers or issues immediately.

· Use job specific apps as required by client agreements (Depotnet)

Job Standards

· Good understanding of Fibre Network Delivery within FTTP across all skillsets (Civils & Flex)

· Very good knowledge of NRSWA, SROH and HAUC.

· NRSWA Street Works Supervisor’s certification all units.

· Ability to demonstrate experience and working knowledge of CDM Regulations.

· Proven Track Record within a senior supervisory level within telecoms.

· Competent IT skills including knowledge and experience of a broad range of applications and packages.

· Ability to understand and implement agreed plans which support the needs of the business and support operational effectiveness.

· Be responsible for your own safety and aware of the safety of your colleagues/team members and of the general public by fully complying with all procedures of the Health and Safety Handbook.

· Complete Supervisory safety training and adhere to all the safety standards
