Managing Estimator – Dry Lining Contractor

About the Company:

Our client is a rapidly growing Dry Lining Contractor, who work on commercial, housing, and major shell and core schemes for some of the UKs leading Main Contractors and House Builders. This family feel company have been established for nearly 10 years and have an impressive annual turnover circa £30m, mainly built on repeat business.

As a company all departments such as pre-construction, operational, commercial, and technical, work closely together on each project ensuring quality standards are delivered, which has created a tight-nit team environment, who are hungry for success.

They notably have a very low staff retention rate and offer 6 month performance reviews, which offer opportunities for forward career progression to all staff across all departments.

About the Role:

Due to high demand and company expansion are Client is in the market for an experienced Dry Lining Managing Estimator. This is a fantastic opportunity for those that are looking for stability and opportunity for career development.

This role will to be work alongside the Head of Winning work and will be to oversee their current estimating team and tenders from enquiry through to pre-start.

Requirements

* Knowledge of Dry lining, partitioning, Screeding, suspended ceiling and rendering systems.

* Good team work ethic with ability to work alone under pressure to achieve tender return dates.

* Preparation of detailed quotations from take off stage through to post tender negotiations, including good communication skills dealing with clients.

* Knowledge of On Screen Take Off software (preferably Conquest estimating and on screen take off software) and ability to build/adapt newly implemented system.

* Willingness to develop the estimating element of the business primarily to enable the office based team to concentrate on the management of secured contracts.

* Good knowledge of Excel and Word.

* Experience of managing a team.

* Ability to work with procurement team to obtain project rates based on detailed quantities at early stage.

* Good logging/record keeping skills for easy reference at contract stage.

* Ability to offer value engineering options.

* Good time management prioritising workload to achieve deadlines.

* Produce detailed target sheets from quotations for sub-contractor payments.

* Able to assist with surveying duties when required including assisting/guiding Apprentice Surveyor.
