Engineering & Project Manager, Kidlington
to £45,000 + bonus & strong benefits with development opportunities to the SLT
The Job
The primary function of this job is to manage a small Technical Team and its activities. You will take responsibility for equipment assembly and integrations (including a series of robot integrations), equipment installations at customer sites, repairs and servicing, the Technology Centre, and customer material and equipment trials. This role involves project and people management, quality and H&S, and budgets and costing; but is also very much a hands-on role. The Technical Team is a support function to the commercial activities of the company.

* Managed the Technical team and the lifecycle of projects related to robotic adhesive dispensing systems
* Leadership over a team of two technicians and one engineer, prioritised activities on a regular basis, boosted enthusiasm via one-to-one meetings and took accountability for results
* Drove the fulfilment of Technical sales orders, assembling and integrating new adhesive dispensing/curing hardware
* Oversaw customer equipment servicing and handling of internal demo stock
* Planned and managed projects relating to the development of robotic adhesive dispensing systems
* Liaising with the sales team, customer updates, organising Factory Acceptance Tests, creating system manuals, and handling delivery and installation
* Actively contributed to the Technical team’s work, including hands-on manufacturing of Safety Enclosures, adhesive dispensing integration, equipment servicing and lab report writing
* Designed mounts and bracketry in SolidWorks for in-house 3D printing
What We Need
* 5 years in a practical engineering role, ideally in a technical manufacturing environment
* Project management experience
* CAD knowledge required (Solidworks)
* Knowledge of electronics, soldering, pneumatics, 3D printing desirable
* Experience of adhesives, coatings, dispensing, robotics or curing is desired but not a requirement
* Organised and process driven
* Detailed and a creative problem solver
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Credibility and reliability – make realistic commitments and live up to them
