About the role

Balfour Beatty has another superb opportunity for several Site Agents (Package Managers) to join our amazing Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.

HS2’s new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK’s best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.

Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.

What you'll be doing

As an Agent you will be reporting to the Senior Package Manager and be leading the management of various subcontractor packages such as the offline utility diversions, Highways civils and its interfaces with other work packages.

Some key responsibilities will be:

Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggest and implement improvements to systems.
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity; experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded.
Understands method statements and risk assessments, able to develop new and improved safe systems of work.
Understands the principles of Accident / Incident Investigation and has good working knowledge of the process.
Understands Business Management Systems and processes.
Able to measure and track KPIs for enhanced productivity.
Experienced at producing detailed records and correspondence for commercial recovery.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

CSCS.
SMSTS.
Ideally, major civils/infrastructure projects experience.
Specific work experience with fit-out.
Good leadership skills.
