Senior Category Manager (12 month FTC, Maternity Cover) | £65,000 + £6k Car Allowance + Bonus | FMCG | Birmingham | Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a global FMCG business based in Birmingham, to recruit for a maternity cover within their category team, as a Senior Category Manager.
The brand is an international household name, and you will be working with a business who is renowned to be supportive and friendly.
Start Date: ASAP
The Role:
In this role you will lead on the development of the Commercial and Category strategy for a leading skincare brand.
You will work with a well-developed team to deliver on continuous growth and operational excellence.
For this role we are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar role and strong understanding of FMCG's or retail. We are looking for strong commercial and analytical skills to provide actionable insights and recommendations to your dedicated category.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing solid relationships with Senior Buyers by proactively identifying opportunities to drive category growth. Including; Promotional Optimisation, Merchandising Flow & Point of Sale, Competitors Retail Reviews, Alignment with Retailer Strategy, and Ranging or Distribution Gaps
Using a variety of data sources to identify these opportunities, simplifying complex data into interesting insights
Implementing OPEX recommendations in your customer
Leading customer partnership agenda to influence both the short-term and long-term growth to the categories
Work with New Product Development team to deliver a Go-to-Market strategy leading on the price and promotion strategy for new products
Candidate Criteria:
Experience in a similar role within FMCG or retail
Strong data and analytics experience with proven experience of delivering actionable insights
Performance driven, customer orientated and pro-active
Strong stakeholder management experience
Proven experience turning data into insight, and leading on actionable recommendations
