Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Mechanic – LGV to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and maintaining the client's fleet of vehicles. This role will be based in Nuneaton with mobile responsibilities, reporting directly to the Garage Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in vehicles, ensuring timely and accurate repairs.
- Strip, fit, and replace any defective vehicle components as necessary.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Complete job cards accurately and return them weekly for documentation processing.
- Coordinate with stores personnel to manage stock efficiently and order necessary parts.
- Identify and recommend additional work to be carried out by external companies if required.
- Communicate effectively with operation managers to schedule vehicle services and repairs.
- Maintain comprehensive service lists and complete tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and undertake test drives to ensure quality workmanship.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies.
Routine Duties:
- Perform vehicle servicing and general maintenance tasks.
- Conduct vehicle repairs as needed, including fault diagnostics.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and complete job cards accurately.
- Manage stock and materials efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Take vehicles for test drives to assess performance.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned.
