Job Description
An Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining financial records, running reports, and recording a wide range of financial transactions, depending on the business they support. Their duties include offering administrative and bookkeeping assistance to Accountants, preparing financial statements, and confirming the accuracy of accounting database information.
Responsibilities:
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Use bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software to input financial data.
Receive and record vouchers, cash, and checks accurately.
Enter debits and credits into software applications and databases.
Financial Reporting:
Produce a variety of reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
Check for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings.
Reconcile and report any discrepancies found in the records.
Administrative Support:
Assist with general office filing related to financial documents.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities:Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
Strong organizational skills.
