Job Description:
We are searching for a building automation control technician who is responsible for installing, commissioning, and programming building automation systems and components. This role includes evaluating the performance of building controls and HVAC systems, ensuring meticulous documentation, and managing DDC control start-up tasks. The position also involves collaborating with clients and electrical installers to ensure seamless system integration.
This opportunity is open to Apprentice Level 1, Intermediate, and Expert-level technicians. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct installation and commissioning activities, including control system setup, network configuration, and equipment integration
Program and configure DDC controls and building automation systems
Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to complete projects on time and within budget
Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues related to DDC control and mechanical systems
Ensure all installation activities are performed according to project specifications and industry standards involving Building Automation Controls installation and service
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of installation processes and project progress
Communicate regularly with the team (supervisor, project coordinator, account managers) and clients
Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes
Required Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of HVAC DDC Control Theory & Applications
Proficiency in Alerton programming
Proficiency or certifications in Alerton, Distech, Siemens, JCI Metasys, or Tridium are highly sought after
Familiarity with electronics and basic electrical circuits
Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities
Proficiency in computer hardware and software
Ability to work autonomously without constant supervision
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Travel within the region up to 50% of the time
Qualifications and Experience:
AA degree in applied technology (preferred).
Alerton, Distech, Siemens, JCI Metasys, or Tridium certifications are highly preferred
Alternatively, a combination of relevant education and experience
Prior experience with HVAC and/or mechanical systems in building automation systems
Computer programming experience is a plus
Proven experience in troubleshooting
