Junior Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Swavesey, Cambs
Hours: 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday (on-site)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: up to £40k
Our client is a leading supplier of LED lighting and control. They are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop embedded software solutions for our products, emphasizing "Design for Test" methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, test engineers, and product managers, to define test requirements and develop test strategies.
Design and implement tools and scripts to enable efficient testing throughout the product lifecycle.
Participate in the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in embedded software development, with a strong understanding of Python, C, and C++.
Experience with embedded systems development tools and environments, including debuggers and compilers for ARM or PIC platforms.
Familiarity with hardware/software interfaces and communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify areas for investigation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools is a plus.
