CNC Recruitment is seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 or 2 Driver to join our prestigious client in South Petherton area, specialising in the supply of oak timber products.
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for transporting oak timber products and materials to various locations using the company vehicle. Your role will involve delivering oak products safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations [an average of 5-6 drops and return mid-afternoon for loading the next day’s deliveries - typically a 6am – 2pm]
Job Types: Temp to Perm
Working hours: Monday to Friday, day shift, 40 per week
Duties:
- Safely operate a truck to transport goods and materials
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement
- Follow delivery schedules
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance
- Communicate with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs and inspection reports
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Commercial driving experience preferred
- Ability to drive long distances and work flexible hours
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
