We are currently recruiting for a suitably experienced Surfacing Supervisor to join our friendly team located from our site in Wick lane, Bow, London. Main ResponsibilitiesAs the Surfacing Supervisor you will have previous or current Supervisory experience. Proven experience within the civil engineering industry, preferably of works delivery within the highways sector. This role reports to the contracts / operations manager.

Other responsibilities for the role of Surfacing Supervisor will include (not exhaustive):

Work closely to ensure delivery of the Contract including: mobilisation, operational delivery, robust financial planning and recovery, and the achievement of contract KPI’s
Support the identification and management of any financial or contractual risks. Maximising financial returns on all projects and by ensuring all processes to gather the information required by the Commercial Team are followed
Work closely to continually improve the Health and Safety culture and performance on the contract and actively seek support on safety, health and environmental issues
Ensure all works are planned efficiently on the ICT platforms and that works are correctly permitted and executed in accordance with the TMA act
Ensure all project/sites comply with company health, safety, environmental and quality policies and procedures and all legislative requirements
Maximise profit and commercial returns on each project by understanding of the commercial/pricing strategy
Defining overall team workload, planning and allocating day-to-day work priorities and allocating manpower for daily tasks
Effective relationships with the client
Take ownership of the management, coaching and development of site personnel
Reviewing how well tasks have been completed and instrumental in implementing 'lessons learnt'The Ideal CandidateAs our ideal Surfacing Supervisor you will have:

ESSENTIAL - Construction Qualification – NVQ 3
CSCS Qualification
SMSTS / SSSTS / IOSH
Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Good oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical abilityIn this role you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the businesses of Riney, Tarmac and local authorities where you must be able to travel across the region of work
