We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Tutor to join our client and deliver their Level 3 Occupational Work Supervisor AEB and Bootcamp courses. As a Construction Site Supervisor Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in equipping adult learners with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the construction industry as site supervisors. Your expertise will ensure that learners gain a deep understanding of site management principles, health and safety regulations, and effective leadership within the construction context.
This will be a full time, permanent role based in Birmingham and occasional travel to Manchester for our client who are an awarding winning organisation that specialises in Trade skills training.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging training sessions, workshops, and lessons to adult learners enrolled in Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision AEB and Bootcamp courses.
* Collaborate with curriculum development teams to enhance existing course materials and develop new content that aligns with industry standards and learner needs.
* Provide practical, hands-on training experiences that simulate real-world construction site supervision scenarios, enabling learners to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
* Design and administer assessments, projects, and assignments to evaluate learner comprehension and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to learners to support their growth.
* Offer individualised guidance and mentorship to learners, addressing their unique learning needs and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Instill a strong awareness of health and safety protocols within the construction environment, emphasising their critical importance in site supervision roles.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that course content remains relevant and aligned with current construction site supervision standards.
* Incorporate relevant technological tools and resources to enhance the learning experience, including virtual simulations, construction management software, and industry-specific applications.
* Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, performance, and overall progress, ensuring successful completion of their 12 week course
* Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas for course improvement, share teaching strategies, and contribute to the overall enhancement of the program.
* Engage in continuous professional development by attending workshops, conferences, and relevant training to enhance your own expertise and teaching methods.
Experience and Qualifications
* Require a Teaching Qualification such as AET, PGCE, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS of equivalent
* Require an Assessors Award such as A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent
* Extensive hands-on experience in construction site supervision roles, with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead construction projects.
* Proven experience in adult education, curriculum design, and course delivery. Experience teaching Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision courses is highly desirable.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner to adult learners.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide learners toward successful outcomes.
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual learner needs.
* Effective organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities.
* Familiarity with construction management software, industry-specific applications, and digital tools to enhance the learning experience.
