We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Biosystems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Biosystems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions for the integration of biological systems with engineering principles. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects that span the intersection of biology, technology, and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
System Design and Integration:
Develop and implement biosystem designs by integrating biological components with engineering principles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure algorithm development successfully integrates biological processes into technological systems.
Data Analysis and Modeling:
Utilize computational tools and modeling techniques to analyze and predict the behavior of biological systems.
Interpret experimental data and implement feedback loops for process optimization.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and guidelines in the development and implementation of biosystem projects.
Contribute to documentation and reporting for regulatory submissions.
Continuous Learning and Innovation:
Stay abreast of the latest developments in biosystems engineering and related fields.
Contribute to the innovation and improvement of processes within the organization.
Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and implementing biosystems projects.
Strong background in biophysical measurements, PPG, ECG and other biometrics.
Proficiency in computational tools, data analysis, and modeling..
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong understanding of signal processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning algorithms.
Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java.
Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
The San Diego range for this position is from $138,107-$168,940
