Accounts Payable Assistant - Non Technical

London / Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable assistant to join our small and friendly Finance team! This person will report directly to the Non-Technical Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the timely processing and
payment of amounts owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors (e.g. payment of vendor invoices, bills,
and other expenses).

Key accountabilities of the Accounts Payable Assisatant

Duties & Responsibilities

* Monitor Accounts Payable inbox ensuring all internal and external queries are managed effectively
* Review and verify invoices for payment
* Enter and upload invoices into SAP Concur (accounts payable module) for approval
* Sort and code invoices in accordance with pre-determined budget portfolios
* Schedule invoice payments based on defined payment terms ensuring vendors are paid on time
* Prepare and process electronic funds transfers and payments via our bank portals
* Oversee the weekly payment runs ensuring all payments released from the bank
* Track expenses and process expense reports
* Prepare analysis of expense accounts as necessary
* Reconcile accounts payable ledger to the general ledger
* Manage the monthly prepayment process

Skills & experience

* Experienced in accounts payable or general accounting.
* Working towards an accounting designation not required but considered an asset
* Knowledge of general accounting principles considered an asset, particularly in relation to accruals and
prepayments
* Knowledge of relevant accounting software (previous experience with Oracle and SAP Concur preferred
but not required)
* Proficient in data entry and management
* Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to work as part of a broader finance team
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
