About the Role:

As the Fostering IRO Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational delivery of the Fostering Team. You will lead a team of HCPC Registered and unregistered staff, ensuring compliance with legislation and local policies while prioritizing the best outcomes for children in care.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Team Manager in all aspects of team operations, including workload allocation, maintaining professional standards, and staff supervision and development.
Lead and manage a team to deliver high-quality services in line with legislative requirements and local policies, promoting a culture of learning and practice development.
Mentor and coach staff, providing regular supervision and setting developmental targets to enhance individual performance and skills.
Stay updated on legislative changes, good practice guidance, and local policies, disseminating this information within the team.
Develop and maintain team plans and objectives aligned with the wider business plan, ensuring compliance and identifying practice development needs.
Write complex reports and briefing papers on policy and operational issues, actively participating in meetings and case conferences.
Ensure team members fulfil statutory responsibilities, policies, and standards, maintaining compliance with Equality and Diversity policies and procedures.
Participate in staff selection processes, ensuring adherence to equalities legislation, good practice guidance, and Council procedures.
Maintain awareness of health and safety within the workplace, ensuring the safety of staff, clients, and others at all times.

Requirements:

CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work, or equivalent professional qualification.
Minimum 1 year of experience supervising professional staff.
Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
Ability to travel independently to all required areas by the job's responsibilities.
