Our client is a leading National Main Contractor with a flagship scheme in the North, looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join the team based in Middlesbrough/Darlington. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a major construction project. Experience with JCT contracts is preferred, as the project will involve the utilisation of these contracts extensively.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management: Efficiently manage all costs relating to the project, including procurement, subcontractor payments, and budget monitoring.
Contract Administration: Administer JCT contracts effectively, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
Tendering: Assist in the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors.
Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
Financial Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial reports to project stakeholders, highlighting any variances and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Change Management: Manage variations and change orders, assessing their impact on project costs and timelines.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with cost overruns, delays, and other project challenges.
Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to foster effective communication and collaboration.Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience in a quantity surveying role within the construction industry.
Proficiency in using relevant quantity surveying software and tools.
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and relevant legislation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
