Materials Scheduler/Expeditor

Shrewsbury/WFH (3 days in the office / 2 days WFH)

Initial 12 month contract - likely to extend for the right person as long as the business need is there!

37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri 07.30 / 08.00 start, with a lunchtime finish on a Friday!

Up to £16 per hour PAYE (33 days paid holiday) / £21.50 Umbrella

We’re looking for a Materials Scheduler/Expeditor to join our globally renowned client’s Supply Chain Team in Shrewsbury working onsite and from home. What will the Materials Scheduler/Expeditor do?

Work on classified Defence projects
Organise and coordinate required materials and parts with global suppliers
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their schedules meet the facilities requirements
Ensure material deliveries take place as planned
Check future forecast accuracy of materials and update plans/schedules as required
Visit UK suppliers
What skills and experience does the Materials Scheduler/Expeditor need?

A British National for Security Clearance as you’ll be working on classified Defence projects
A full UK driving licence to be able to drive the company pool cars to visit UK suppliers
Previous experience working in a Supply Chain role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Understanding of MRP processes and supply chain, used to using an MRP system
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organisation, and communication skills
Microsoft Excel: intermediate standard or higher (e.g. look ups, formulas, create pivot tables)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you’ll be solving problems independently and putting measures in place to stop them from reoccurring
Desirable experience: material scheduling & expediting, 6 Sigma/Lean principles, SAP / QAD software
