Class 2 or 7.5 Tonne Home Delivery Driver

Freeway Recruitment are currently recruiting for Class 2 OR 7.5t Drivers drivers to join our client's home delivery team on an ongoing basis.

Working in a 2-person delivery team you will be responsible for the following;

* Drivers will be required to deliver goods on both Class 2 (12t) and 7.5 Tonne wagons

* All deliveries require manual handling and therefore Drivers must be fit and able to carry out these duties

* Drivers must have a positive and flexible attitude to work and be comfortable with dealing with the general public and domestic delivery responsibilities on a day to day basis

* Daily checks of the vehicle, ensuring to report any defects on check sheets

* Ensuring Tacho hours and rules are adhered to

* Drivers will be required to work with a Porter and/or Second Driver to ensure Product is delivered in a professional manner to customers homes around the local and wider region

* You will be delivering on average anywhere between 10 to 15 Deliveries per shift , included in that could be a small number of inter-store deliveries or returns.

* Operating the Vehicle and also the tail lift of the vehicle

* Liaising with the Operations manager on a daily basis.

Shifts

Sunday to Thursday

* The working week rotates 5 and 6 shifts over 7 days. This will include covering additional shifts as and when require, Saturday & Sunday shift deliveries (rates below).

Shift Times

07:00am /08:00am Starts (basic hrs) - Contracted to a 9 hour day , paid a min of 8 for the shift. Overtime is available and required above 8-9 hours working day, especially throughout peak periods.

There is an immediate start for the right candidate.

Pay

£15.00ph Mon to Fri basic hours / £22.50ph after 9 hours 9hr break deduction included)

£22.50 per hour Saturday all shift

£30.00ph Sunday all shifts

Requirements for the role:

* You must have a full UK Driving licence with at the very least a (c) - Class 2 entitlement

* No more than 3 points on licence with no DR IN MS OR DD offences

* A full and valid CPC card and digital tachograph card

* Experience of operating HGV box waggons.

* Experience of working within a Home delivery capacity is an advantage although not essential.

* Good communication skills.
