Job Description
Controls the flow of material and assets, with associated documentation requirements, from Production, Repair, Customer Assets and ultimately to customer or manufacturing sites. Below are included duties but not limited to:
Oversees the execution and continuous improvement of all logistics processes and systems. Defines and develops logistics support requirements, plans and schedules performs life cycle costs, reliability, maintainability, and availability analyses.
Is primary focal point for activity for activity prepping shipment and post dock departure though delivery to site/customer, acceptance by customer, revenue recognition issues and export tracking, freight forwarder issues as well as claims.
Functions in role as capacity for internal and lower-level shipment processing activities, international processing compliance.
During absences and surges in workflow provides additional duties and coverage in Logistics and P&IC.
Determine best transportation routes, carriers and modes, working relationships with freight forwarders, Customs and carriers.
Planning to achieve order schedules and revenue performance schedules/plans. Tracking, reporting and follow up. Follow through to resolve delivery issues and accountable for revenue recognition. Reporting, issues mitigation and follow up.
Work issues related to Lost shipment, claims and resolve conflicts in closing out deliveries - delivery after departure from Facility.
Review and translate Mil spec or other packaging and transportation requirements, export and delivery to end user into actionable processes and completes/communicate reporting requirements/documentation to determine/formulate specific recommendations regarding parts and equipment.
Provide workload capacity coverage for Shipping processing, international certifications and processing, plus role of Logistics Associate daily activities.
Back up for Shipping supervision- Assignment of work, interpretation of Government/Customer transportation and packing specifications.
Coordinate movement of materials and documentation to support shipment processing across various systems - Financial, Trade Compliance, Production reporting, government transportation and DD250/DD1149. All to obtain target order and Revenue objectives.
