My client is a general accounting practice seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Manager to join their growing team. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and accurate processing of payroll for a varied client base, with a particular focus on NHS clients. Fulltime preferred, part-time hours may be considered. Salary is dependent upon experience.
About the Role:
* Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors, with a strong focus on NHS payroll and pensions.
* Oversee all aspects of the payroll process, including data entry, calculations, deductions, and RTI submissions.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant UK payroll regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance, and auto-enrolment.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
* Liaise effectively with clients, employees, and HMRC to resolve queries and ensure smooth payroll processing.
* Develop and implement robust payroll procedures to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
* Manage and mentor assistant payroll team members
You will be a perfect fit if you have:
* Proven experience as a Payroll Manager in a general accounting practice or payroll bureau environment.
* In-depth knowledge of NHS payroll and pension schemes.
* A strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and best practices, including PAYE, National Insurance, and auto-enrolment.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in payroll software Sage Payroll is desirable.
Responsibilities will include:
* Communication with clients via email and telephone
* Processing weekly and monthly payroll using sage and other cloud software (Xero & Intuit)
* Registering new payrolls and pension schemes
* Issuing clients with payroll reports
* Complying with RTI requirements
* Making submissions to pension companies
* Dealing with payroll related queries
Experience:
* Payroll: 2 years (preferred)
Hybrid working may be considered
Salary:£30,000.00 per year
