Payroll Team Leader

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Salary: £32,000- £36,000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a reputable transport company based in Buckinghamshire, is looking for a Payroll and Pensions Officer to lead a team of 2 Payroll Assistants. They are a well-established organization committed to providing exceptional rail services in the UK. As a Payroll and Pension Officer, you will be responsible for managing the payroll and pension functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee payments and pension contributions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.

* Manage pension schemes, including auto-enrollment, contributions, and communication with pension providers.

* Prepare and submit payroll-related reports and returns to HMRC.

* Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

* Respond to payroll and pension-related inquiries from employees and management.

* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

* Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.

* Assist with the preparation of year-end payroll and pension documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Proven experience in payroll and pension administration.

* Strong knowledge of payroll software and MS Excel.

* Familiarity with HMRC regulations and pension schemes.

* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills.

* Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
