Are you an experienced teacher with a passion for curriculum development and a background in the special school system? We have a thrilling opportunity for you to join our dynamic client school in Hackney as a Curriculum Lead. This role is part-time, focusing solely on curriculum leadership, or full-time with teaching responsibilities accounting for 30%-40% of the week.

Qualifications for Curriculum Lead:

QTS or Equivalent: Qualified Teacher Status from the UK.
Experience in Special Schools: Previous experience working within the special school system.
Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead curriculum development initiatives and inspire colleagues.
Knowledge of SEND: Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and how to support students effectively.
Innovative Approach: Creativity in designing and implementing curriculum strategies to meet diverse student needs.
Collaborative Nature: Willingness to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to enhance the curriculum.
NASENCO (Desirable): National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination qualification is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development: Lead the development and implementation of a dynamic and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning across the curriculum, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
Staff Training: Provide training and support to staff on curriculum-related matters, including differentiation and effective teaching strategies.
Assessment and Evaluation: Implement assessment processes to measure student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum.
Parental Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about curriculum developments and student progress.
Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
