Founded in 2014, M & Y Asian Market has grown into the biggest Asian food store in Cape Breton Island, NS. Our products include thousands of dry, frozen, and fresh foods from Mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea,Japan, etc. Currently we have two locations. One is located at 2150 Windsor St. Halifax, NS, and the other one is at 1544 Granville St. Halifax, NS. We are a growing team that makes best effort to bring the greatest value to our customers. 

Job Title: Administrative Officer 
Job type: Permanent, full time 
Location: Halifax, NS 
Hourly wage: $16/hr 
Working hours: 40/week

Main duties:
-Develop and implement administrative and operational policies, procedures and proposals; establish work priorities, delegate work to the store staff, and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met.
-Provide administrative, organizational, clerical and secretarial support within the store for the day-to-day and special activities based on work priorities.
-Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence accurately, regarding sales, inventory, and special events.
-Supervise and train staff; co-ordinate and plan for office services such as accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services.
-Check and reply various emails every day; receive, sort, prioritize, and distribute incoming and outgoing mails. 
-Co-ordinate administrative processes including filing, data entry, electronic file management, updating organizational charts and spreadsheets, drafting correspondence.
-Responsible for maintenance of office supplies including monitoring, ordering and purchasing, troubleshoot operational problems, and promote best practices for sustainable office procedures. 
-Liaise with other staff on promotions, marketing, and product launch; assist in the preparation of operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Completion of a College Diploma in Management, Economics or equivalents.
At least three years’ work experience in office administration or related field.
Superior multi-tasking skills.
Ability to take on a variety of roles and responsibilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under pressure.
Attention to detail.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication skills.
