Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Residential Children's Home Manager in the Rochdale area. This opportunity is ideal for both experienced Registered Managers and Deputy Managers seeking career advancement. The position involves establishing and managing a new provision catering to children ages 10+ with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. We are eager to fill this role as soon as possible.

General Duties:

Collaborate with the Director and Responsible Individual to prepare the home for registration, including staff recruitment and induction.

*

Manage all aspects of service provision, including staff supervision, care planning, safeguarding, and compliance with regulatory standards.

*

Ensure full implementation of statutory and organisational policies and procedures.

*

Lead and manage the home in an aspirational manner, inspiring both children and staff.

*

Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders and multi-agency partnerships.

Roles and Responsibilities:

*

Complete the registration process with Ofsted and assume the role of Registered Manager.

*

Establish, implement, and maintain quality standards for high-quality, child-centred care.

*

Lead and develop the staff team in conjunction with the deputy and team leaders.

*

Allocate managerial tasks and provide professional supervision for staff.

*

Contribute to recruitment processes, including shortlisting and interview participation.

*

Organise visits and communicate effectively with referring authorities and families.

*

Represent the organisation professionally during Ofsted inspections.

*

Provide strong leadership and effective management of the service.

*

Prepare administrative tools as required for the home's business operations.

*

Facilitate staff meetings and allocate responsibilities to support staff development.

*

Implement the rota and monitor annual leave and petty cash expenditures.

*

Provide regular and ongoing training, mandatory and specialised.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

*

Working knowledge of attachment theory within children’s homes.

*

Experience in managing budgets.

*

Knowledge/experience of the referral process.

Essential Requirements:

*

Ability to be flexible with working hours/pattern of hours.

*

QCF Level 3/4 qualification in Children and Young People (CYP).

*

Possession of a Full UK driving licence.

*

Minimum 1 year of managerial experience within children’s residential service.

*

Working knowledge and understanding of quality standards.

*

Experience with Ofsted inspections.

*

Hold or be willing to undertake QCF Level 5 leadership and management qualification
