Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our client’s dynamic team based in the North-West. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building services with a keen interest or experience in renewable energy solutions. This role is critical in supporting the growth and success of the company’s projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating: Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical estimates for a variety of projects, ensuring all costs are accounted for.
Tender Preparation: Review and analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders.
Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices.
Project Review: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates are realistic and achievable.
Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide technical advice where necessary.
Sustainability Focus: Integrate renewable energy solutions into mechanical estimates, promoting sustainable practices and compliance with industry standards.
Reporting: Produce detailed reports and documentation to support estimates and tender submissions.
Mentoring: Support and mentor junior estimators, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical estimating within the building services sector.
Education: Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent professional experience.
Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, building regulations, and industry standards.
Interest in Renewable Energies: Demonstrated interest or experience in renewable energy solutions is highly desirable.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Driving License: Valid UK driving license.
