Knapp – Site Lead Engineer

Based in Walkden, Greater Manchester (Ethigen - NEW SITE)

£45,000 £5,000 shift allowance

40 hours a week (Apply online only) & (Apply online only) )

Job Summary
It is expected that all Engineers will possess proven experience of dealing with electro-mechanical faults and preventative maintenance operations within a warehouse / FMCG environment. Reporting to the Site Manager/Supervisor, the Engineer will be eager though safety conscious, with a track record of owning problems and taking them through to successful completion. Every team member will be required to respond out of hours in an emergency situation. This emergency cover will be scheduled within the team and is not a permanent requirement. European travel for training may be required.

Key responsibilities

* The position requires a wide range of skills including but not limited to the following:

* 1st level support – error correction within the logistics system

* Electrical, Mechanical, pneumatic, fault finding and repairs

* Planned maintenance of the automated logistic system

* Monitoring the technical operation of the logistic system

* Inspections and condition monitoring of installed equipment

* Efficient and effective equipment breakdown recovery

* Escalation management of equipment/system incidents

* Interact with customer management team keeping them informed of repair and maintenance progression and addressing their concerns in a professional manner.

* Interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls.

* Follow set up instructions, assembly drawings and check lists

* Manage spare parts including usage, inventory levels, repairs, receipts, replenishments, ordering

* Demonstrable compliance with Health and Safety regulations and customer standards and regulations

* Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers

* Appreciation of control systems (WCS, WMS, SCADA)

* Appreciation of industrial field bus systems (e.g. ASi, Profibus)

* Willingness to learn and adapt to changing role requirements

* Appreciation of Cultural Diversity

Skills, qualifications and experience

* Completed a time served apprenticeship in an Electrical/Mechanical discipline to a minimum standard of NVQ 3

* Experience of Automated Systems

* HNC/HND Desirable

* Understanding of WMS, WCS systems is beneficial but not essential

* Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge beneficial.

* Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills
