PMO Lead - Contract Role 3 month contract Inside IR35 UK Remote

Are you a seasoned PMO Lead with a passion for implementing robust programme and project controls? Our client is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team and lead the implementation of new standards across multiple complex programmes. This is a contract role designed to provide immediate support and deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery Integrity: Independently assure the integrity of programme delivery through thorough scrutiny of project plans, risk, and dependency logs.
Standards Implementation: Implement and operate agreed standards, tools, and templates for planning, dependency, and risk management.
Reporting Efficiency: Streamline the reporting process and produce insightful reports using MS Project and MS Excel.
Team Coaching: Support and coach programme managers to build and maintain robust plans, undertake critical path analysis, identify dependencies, and conduct comprehensive risk assessments.
Data Analysis: Objectively analyze programme data to identify and address integrity issues.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior stakeholders to gain agreement on enhancements to standards, tools, and templates.
Governance and Reporting: Produce and publish velocity reports, trajectory dashboards, and leadership/executive reports in accordance with agreed standards.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

Emotional Intelligence: High degree of emotional intelligence, clear communicator, excellent listening skills, situational awareness, and thought leadership.
Leadership Experience: Led a PMO team of at least six analysts.
Programme/Project Controls: Defined, gained organizational agreement for, and implemented robust programme/project controls, including financial performance, plan performance, risk management, and dependency management.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in MS Project and MS Excel for integrating and operating project plans, generating insightful reports, and maintaining programme plans.
Scrutiny and Reporting: Demonstrated ability to execute independent scrutiny of project plans, risks, and dependencies and generate insightful reports.

Desirable:

Enterprise PMO Experience: Experience in a leadership or senior role within an Enterprise PMO.
Commercial Context: PMO experience within a commercial context, such as engagements based on Fixed Price contracts.
Technology Transformation: Experience in PMO leadership within technology transformation programmes.
Product Management: Understanding of product management principles and practical application within a PMO context.

Additional Skills:

Standards Implementation: Ability to define and implement effective programme/project standards.
Process Improvement: Introduce process and approach changes through coaching and influencing.
Data Management: Strong data analysis and management skills.
Efficiency in Reporting: Drive efficiency in programme and project reporting over time.
Objective Scrutiny: Perform independent and objective scrutiny of programme and project data.
Accountabilities:

The PMO Lead is accountable for:

Ownership and implementation of agreed standards, tools, and templates for planning, dependency, and risk management.
Producing and publishing weekly velocity reports, trajectory dashboards, and leadership/executive reports.
Optimizing the integrity of programme and project management practices through data analysis, coaching, and supporting project managers.
