SYR continue to support one of the busiest south coast shipyards as they look to add to their engineering team to cope with an extensive build schedule.
Located in one of yachtings major UK hubs, the yard design and manufacture both series built and custom craft for an international customer base with a high demand when it comes to product finish and quality. With an exceptional history, they have massively grown as a business in recent years and are a well known local employer.
With continued demand and a full order book well into 2026, they are needing to bolster their engineering team to cope with demand. Reporting into the heads of production and engineering, the role will include the following duties:
- Working from production drawings to install a wide range of systems across vessels such as engines, hydraulics, mechanical systems and more
- Ensuring the highest standard of installation so as to ensure that noise and vibration levels are minimal
- Working as an integral part of an assigned build team, ensuring that your own work is seamlessly integrated with the overall build schedule
- High Level testing and basic commissioning
- Attendance on sea trials and delivery for snagging and final sign-off
Our ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and qualified marine engineer with 5+ years spent on the installation of high end systems to leisure craft. You'll be confident to work from drawings and be able to integrate seamlessly within the team, both supporting and driving others to meet the needs of each build. You'll possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for the work you do. The role will see you based in the shipyard, but with the odd requirement for international travel
