Position: Pastry Chef

Location: Kelvedon, Essex

Salary: £30000 - £40000 (dependent on experience)

Reporting To: Head Chef and Sous Chef

Responsible For: Commis Chef

As a Pastry Chef you'll play a pivotal role in delivering the highest standards of pastry quality and creativity. From preparation to presentation, you'll contribute to the culinary legacy that defines this venue.

Main Duties

* Ensure the highest food quality appropriate to the market.

* Adhere to company standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation.

* Prepare desserts according to menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation.

* Collaborate closely with chefs to maintain food quality and delivery times.

* Assist in ordering fresh products and dry storage items required by the section.

* Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.

* Set up for service and ensure readiness for forecasted covers and reservations.

* Maintain records of preparation, cooking, and presentation specifications.

* Actively participate in achieving departmental goals and objectives.

* Attend departmental meetings and training sessions as required.

* Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment.

Requirements

* 2 years' experience in a pastry kitchen.

* Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).

* COSSH training (can be provided).

* Basic knowledge of HACCP.

* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and peers.

* Self-motivated with a commitment to success.

* Flexible, enthusiastic, and confident.

* Strong organizational skills.
