Position Overview:

Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for delivering expert advice and support across a diverse range of HR activities? We are seeking a dedicated Senior HR Advisor to join our team on an 18 month fixed term contract, where you will play a pivotal role in managing complex employee relations matters and ensuring fairness and consistency in line with our HR policies and employment legislation.

As a Senior HR Advisor, you will leverage your comprehensive understanding of employment laws to navigate intricate issues, mitigating risks while driving positive business outcomes. You will be instrumental in refining our HR policies and procedures, enhancing the employee experience, and aligning with our business objectives.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

Provide professional and expert HR advice/guidance to employees and leaders in accordance with HR policies, processes, and procedures. Build strong working relationships with leaders of all levels and provide proactive advice, support and guidance on complex and varied employee relations matters including investigations, suspension, disciplinaries, grievances, appeals, performance issues, drugs and alcohol testing, absence management, capability situations, settlement agreements and contractual changes.

Manage complex issues from end to end with minimal supervision, informing leaders of any risk and advising them on the best approach.

Identify opportunities to improve and develop HR policies and procedures in line with employment law changes and best practice. Collaborate with key stakeholders to successfully implement policy changes that support business objectives.

Support HR Business Partners to execute people plans that support business objectives and priorities, such as organizational structure changes, changes in headcount requirements, tackling performance issues, improving employee experience and attracting/retaining talent.

Be the first point of escalation for the HR Assistant and coach and guide them through employee relations matters to support their personal development. Work in collaboration with the Centres of Excellence such as recruitment, reward and learning & development to provide a seamless, supportive and proactive HR service to the business.

Work closely with internal legal team to respond Data Subject Access Requests and ensure all requests are dealt with confidentially and in line with GDPR Regulations.

Skills Required

Comprehensive understanding of current employment law in the UK including GDPR and IR35 Regulations

Good understanding of current employment law in the Republic of Ireland (desirable)

Experience using Workday HR Management system or equivalent (desirable)

Strong investigation skills with the ability to seek additional information and think differently

Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs and HR Information Systems

Flexible and persistent to achieve the best possible results

Able to analyze and interpret data (desirable)

Strong mediation skills (desirable)

Education & Experience:

Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)

A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a progressive HR Advisor/Senior HR Advisor role

Fully CIPD qualified or significant progress towards completion

Comprehensive employment law knowledge

Experience working within a fast-paced multi-site operational business (desirable)

Experience working in a Unionized environment (desirable)

Experience supporting with an organizational change project which could include TUPE and redundancy situations (desirable)
