Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Monday-Friday (Full-Time - 8:30am-3:30pm) - Term Time Only

Salary: £100-£120 a day

Reports to: SEN Teacher and SENCO

Veritas Education are working closely with a special school in Bradford who are looking for a Level 4 HLTA to join their team on a full-time basis. As a HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of our students, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the academic progress and well-being of students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities.

The school provides education to primary aged children with complex needs, medical needs, special educational needs, and challenging behaviours. The school is a vibrant and inclusive primary special needs school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to children with a diverse range of needs. Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, providing support to individuals and small groups of students to facilitate their understanding and participation.
Lead whole-class sessions and deliver pre-planned lessons in the teacher's absence, ensuring continuity of learning.
Assist in the assessment of student's progress, providing feedback and supporting the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
Implement and support behaviour management strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Contribute to the development and adaptation of learning materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
Provide mentor ship and pastoral support to students, helping them develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
Assist with the preparation of classroom materials, maintaining student records, and other administrative tasks as required.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay current with educational best practices.
Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to student learning and development.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.Requirements:

Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
Significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role, with a proven track record of supporting students with SEN and disabilities.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate students, manage behaviour effectively, and work collaboratively with colleagues.
A good understanding of the national curriculum, SEN Code of Practice, and effective teaching and learning strategies.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students.
GCSE English and Maths is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
A compassionate and patient approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic educational setting.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Safeguarding training is essential, although this can be offered by Veritas.
Level 2 Team Teach training is essential, although this can be offered by Veritas.
Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
