Established in 1995, Public Properties provides government agencies, property owners, managers, and brokers a specicialized focus that benefits clients through knowledge of the latest trends in government real estate. The firm is devoted full-time to government real estate services and structuring, procuring, and administering government leases.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Public Properties is searching for a talented Project/Construction Manager to work on the firms post-lease award contract requirements for design and build out of federally leased space. The team member will serve as a liaison between all relevant parties coordinating design and construction of leased space on behalf of firm clients.
The successful candidate will be an effective leader who excels at planning for a wide range of projects with differing size, use, location, and complexity. Time-management and ability to keep projects on schedule and on budget will be essential to the role, as will excellent communication skills with all parties involved. Responsibilities include schedule management, reviewing building plans, executing lease requirements, understanding construction technicalities and articulating solutions to and obtaining buy-in from stakeholders.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Travel for design workshops, progress reports/visits, and space acceptance will be required; on average the candidate will likely travel 1-3 times per month.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously candidate must be extremely organized.
Schedule, organize, and participate in design meetings.
Review drawings against agency specific requirements.
Review and analysis of tenant improvement buildout costs.
Prepare biweekly reports on project status, level of activity and projected activity related to goals and objectives.
Participate in weekly calls for all active projects, provide meeting minutes following calls.
On-site construction progress visits and reporting.
Final walkthrough and punch list development.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 1-3 years experience as a project or construction manager in commercial real estate development; experience with federal projects preferred
Bachelors or Advanced Degree; focus in related field preferred (real estate, urban planning, architecture, construction, or engineering)
Industry relevant certification and/or license preferred
ADDITIONAL NOTES Role is for an established small Washington DC headquartered real estate company providing ample opportunity for growth. Prefer a self-starter who is fully engaged and willing to take on projects and new opportunities as they are presented.
