Responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of BRUSH group indirect costs, totalling approximately £3 million per annum. Your primary objective will be to identify opportunities for cost savings, optimize value, and implement new contracts where necessary to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.

Key objectives:

Conduct a thorough analysis of brush group indirect costs to identify areas of potential savings and opportunities for optimization.
Collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders across departments to gather necessary data and insights for the review process.
Utilize analytical tools and techniques to assess current spending patterns, identify inefficiencies, and propose cost-saving initiatives.
Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and contracts that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, improve cost control measures, and enhance overall value for money.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented cost-saving measures, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Prepare and present regular progress reports and recommendations to senior management, highlighting key findings, achievements, and areas for further improvement.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the cost review and optimization process.
Act as a subject matter expert on indirect cost management, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.Main Responsibilities
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers for transformers and related components. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure competitive advantage and adherence to quality standards.
Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand demand forecasts and ensure adequate inventory levels.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of transformers and related components to minimize excess stock and ensure availability for production and customer orders. Implement inventory control measures to optimize working capital and reduce holding costs.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the supply chain process and develop/implement solutions to streamline operations. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and increase overall efficiency.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for transformers and related products. Implement quality control measures throughout the supply chain to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain (e.g., supplier reliability, geopolitical factors) and develop contingency plans to mitigate impact. Proactively monitor and address issues to minimize disruptions to production and customer delivery schedules.
Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports and performance metrics to track key supply chain KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, inventory turnover). Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk, and present findings to management.Person Specification
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in supply chain management, preferably in the electrical equipment or manufacturing industry, with a focus on transformers and switchgear.
Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationship management.
Experience in leading process improvement initiatives and implementing best practices to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE X3) is preferred.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
