What you'll be doing as the Event and Business Development Manager:

Collaborate with the CEO and Head of Events to design a strategic and impactful calendar of charitable activities, focusing on revenue generation and community engagement.
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to develop and pitch innovative event and fundraising concepts that attract donors and sponsors.
Identify, cultivate, and manage new business opportunities, partnerships, and sponsorships to support the charity's financial goals and mission.
Develop compelling proposals and presentations to secure funding and sponsorship deals.
Network with potential donors, corporate partners, and community leaders to build and strengthen relationships that benefit the charity.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders including suppliers, businesses, community groups, venues, and investors.
Oversee procurement for events, manage budgets, and provide financial reports to the CEO/Head of Events.
Engage with third parties for appeals and funding applications, ensuring alignment with the charity's objectives.
Represent the charity at major events, acting as a proactive ambassador to increase visibility and support.
Build strong internal relationships across departments and foster external partnerships, enhancing collaboration and outreach.
Lead and mentor a small in-house Events team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations and professional development.What we're looking for:

You don't need to come from the Charity sector; this role is working at a senior level with corporate partners and exposure from a professional industry will be beneficial. However, we are looking for proven experience in a related Events and/or Business Development role for 3+ years, able to demonstrate clear examples of fostering credible partnerships, and the ability to generate growth within an events or fundraising portfolio.
Leadership experience is useful; this role will support and mentor a small team day-to-day.
Attitude is key - we are looking for someone to match their passion, enthusiasm, work ethic, and energy. This isn't your 'normal' job, and the role requires a truly resilient, diligent, and adaptable individual always willing to go the extra mile.
Exceptional planning and organisational acumen, adept at documenting and tracking programs, expenses, and plans.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong numerical and reporting capabilities.
Ability to operate independently within your role while seamlessly integrating within a broader team framework.
Proficiency in multitasking and managing a varied workload, maintaining a calm approach under pressure.
