Curriculum Developer

会社: Galileo Learning
仕事のタイプ: Full-time

Job Description
This is not your typical Curriculum Developer role. At Galileo Learning, the Curriculum Developer is a key member of our Curriculum & Instruction Department—a  team that develops rich, riveting original projects and courses that spark curiosity, capture attention and ultimately turn Galileo campers into fearless innovators. Our curriculum guides K-5th grade campers to design and build impressive, STEAM-based projects such as a working handheld vacuum, a sturdy pinball machine or a sit-on rocking pet — all made from everyday materials like cardboard,  paper cups, and craft foam. Our middle schoolers might use wood and power tools to create a go-kart they can ride in, a remote-controlled robot or a themed escape room. This visionary team welcomes intellectual intensity, thrives on collaboration and feedback, are the torchbearers of our pedagogy, , and have a reputation for hosting elaborately themed celebrations.

YOU WILL
You’ll dream up, tinker and prototype, highly-engaging, hands-on design & engineering projects that spark the imagination of Galileo campers (PreK-10th graders), delight their families and differentiate Galileo programs from the rest.
You’ll create clear and supportive, multimedia, digital curriculum guides that use photos, gifs and video to enable instructors to bring the projects and program to life while ensuring the seamless integration of the Galileo Innovation Approach, our proprietary pedagogy.
You’ll consistently empathize with your end users—Galileo summer staff and campers. You’ll create content for instructor professional development and training, and provide insight and support to instructional staff during the summer, helping to ensure they feel heard, prepared, and inspired to lead.
You’ll be a vital and collaborative member of the Galileo Curriculum & Instruction team, supporting other curriculum activities and initiatives as needed, and collaborating with the Supply Chain team to identify materials best suited for our needs and budget.
YOU ARE
You’re inspired by Galileo’s mission and purpose. Innovation education, project-based learning, and working in a professional, welcoming, deeply camp-inspired environment all speak to the very heart of who you are.
You’re an experienced, creative, fun-loving artist or maker. You have deep knowledge of design or building techniques and will relish the opportunity to create innovation-oriented projects & curriculum for our one-of-a-kind program.
You’re a master communicator and multimedia producer. You are a fast and prolific writer who knows exactly how to make a picture (or gif, illustration, etc.) that’s worth 1000 words and develop digital curriculum guides that set students and instructors up for success.
You’re a skilled collaborator. You have confidence contributing to a creative vision and proven ability to work with others to realize that vision. You thrive in a highly  iterative environment where giving and receiving feedback (on works in progress) is at the center your practice
You’re an experienced educator with deep empathy. You have a demonstrated and robust understanding of educators’ needs, classroom dynamics, and social-emotional development of K-8 children.
You’re a flexible thinker, creative problem-solver and a quick learner. You meet challenges with enthusiasm and have the ability to think big picture and still sweat the small stuff. You are curious at heart and can teach yourself anything.
