Urgently Hiring - Travel Surgical Technologists in Suffolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA
Are you a skilled Surgical Technologist ready for an exciting opportunity? We are urgently hiring in Suffolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA, and offering a comprehensive compensation package with benefits.
Qualifications:
Current CST Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and/or Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
1-2 years of experience
BLS Certification (Check expiration date) - American Heart Association
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities - As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
Efficiently and effectively assisting physicians with operative procedures.
Anticipating surgeon/physicians needs both in preparing for procedures and during procedures.
Demonstrating knowledge of specific responsibilities in all emergency situations.
Ensuring the sterility of all supplies and instruments during the setup of surgical procedures.
Handling instruments in a manner that prolongs the "life" of the instrument.
Assisting circulating nurses and the surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
Transporting all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas and assisting in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets.
Interacting appropriately and effectively with all patients/others, regardless of age or ethnic background.
Using Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
Assisting with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participating in emergency preparedness drills.
Following all equipment and safety guidelines and taking responsibility for the knowledgeable use and care of equipment.
Maintaining designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the center.
