Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing Manager to ensure that manufacturing operations in that CNC Blanking and Press Brake departments are continuously improving and working towards strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures that all associates are properly trained in all safety work practices and procedures. Also ensures that their teams follow all safety procedures consistently.
Ensures that all processes in department can be performed in a safe manner and works with engineering and the safety manager to assess processes to improve ergonomics on each process.
Leads efforts to continuously improve the performance of processes in the CNC Blanking and Press Brake departments to improve the quality metrics for products delivered to the customer. Coordinates efforts with the quality department to ensure customer specifications are consistently met.
Coordinates efforts with the planning and production control team to ensure that production schedules are consistently attained. Makes decisions about weekly scheduling to include overtime in reporting departments. Makes recommendations and gains approvals from senior management that ensures staffing levels can meet customer demands.
Ensures that products are consistently flowing through manufacturing departments on a daily basis and critical products are moved through the area to meet customer requirements. Ensures that all members of departments record production accurately, move products through production using established ERP system.
Lead efforts to improve the productivity of CNC Blanking and Press Brake departments ensuring the most efficient use of direct production labor. Coordinates efforts with engineering to continuously improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes. Makes recommendations to senior management and seeks to gain approval for improvement to equipment/ processes that will improve productivity.
Controls and looks for ways to reduce spending in CNC Blanking and Press Brake departments per annual budgets. Participates in annual budgeting process to ensure accurate budgeting.
Provides leadership, coaching, and annual evaluations to group leaders, and associates in assigned departments. Ensures that all personnel assigned in their departments are trained to appropriate levels.
Qualifications:
10 to 15 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelors degree (B.A.)Supervisory Responsibilities: May have 10 to 25 direct labor associates. Individual must carry out supervisoryresponsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Other Requirements: Has strong knowledge of operations management processes along with manufacturing processes. Lean Six Sigma experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, Internet Explorer, Design software, Development software, Human Resources software, Inventory software, is very familiar and comfortable with Manufacturing software (ERP), and Project Management software.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
