A Professional Services firm based in Reading is recruiting a Bid Manager to join its team. The Bid Manager will be responsible for ensuring the consistent and compliant implementation of the company's sales-to-delivery process, providing input and oversight to all aspects of the 'bid' process, from initial lead qualification through to project implementation.

The Bid Manager will also, be responsible for ensuring each of the company's business divisions receives the necessary support to effectively progress opportunities, ensuring the company is well placed to both win and deliver client engagements.

BID MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

* Scoping and qualification of client requirements, through client site visits / calls

* Coordinating and overseeing the production of proposal / presentation documents and other client-facing collateral

* Responding in a timely manner to clients' requests for information / proposals (RFI / RFPs)

* Ensuring all bid submissions are accurate, innovative and that all due governance has been adhered to at each stage of the bidding process

* Ensuring commercials are as compelling and persuasive as possible, and are tailored to meet the specific requirements of the client scenario

* Support in establishing project resource requirements, costs and constraints

* Ensure adequate assistance is provided such that opportunity owners are well positioned to progress client requirements and meet agreed deadlines

* Ensure that all bid deliverables (proposals, presentations etc.) are of high quality and in line with company standards

* Foster effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and the client during the bid phase of the project

BID MANAGER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

* Track record of successfully managing the end-to-end bid process

* Knowledge / bid library management

* Identifying / implementing continuous process improvement initiatives

* 'Solution selling' in a professional services firm

* Personable - strong communication skills, can proactively engage with people at all levels

* Confident - self-starter that can build relationships across a range of disciplines

* Effective communication skills - successfully managing internal stakeholders as well as liaising with external client contacts

* Well organised - can manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively

* Time management - working at pace and to tight deadlines, working to a defined time-table

* Stakeholder management - actively manage pursuit team to source content in a timely fashion

* Attention to detail - methodical and thorough, sustaining consistently high standards in a highly visible role

* Team player - flexible and adaptable, comfortable working in a small team with a broad range of responsibilities
