Mechanical Design Engineer (4 day week)

Headley Recruitment have a live vacancy for a mechanical design engineer with a manufacturer of capital equipment based in Halifax.
The company are long established and supply an international customer base – the quality of work here is good.
This is a full time job with hours worked over 4 slightly longer days, Monday - Thursday
We are seeking a reasonably experienced candidate, perhaps with 3 / 4 years’ experience upwards in a mechanical design role.
You’d need to be credible with customers, a good problem solver, commercial in outlook and have experience in providing solutions that work well and look good!
Key duties to include:
* Understanding customer requirements and offering commercially viable design solutions
* Evaluating existing designs, making necessary modifications and design of new products / R&D
* Working closely with the inhouse teams in Sales, Projects, and Manufacturing.
* BOM creation and dealing with suppliers
* 3D modelling and preparation of technical manufacturing drawings
* Customer liaison, presentation of ideas and designs
You:
* Experience in a mechanical design role, most likely with at least 3 / 4 years experience, though less experienced engineers should apply too.
* Solidworks experience
* Most likely degree or HND or similar educated
* Ideally experience of design for sheet metal, machined components and rotating parts
* Work well under pressure
* Good attitude to work; committed and reliable
