Shop Floor Inspector

Job description

RMS are recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a Shop Floor Inspector, for a leading Engineering company based in Ferryhill.

This role is a permanent contract, initially starting on dayshift with a view to move onto a 2-shift rotation. With a salary of £13.73 per hour.

Day Shift
Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 12.30pm.

2 Shift Pattern
Monday to Thursday 2.30pm – 11pm, Friday 12.30pm – 7pm.
Monday to Thursday 6am – 2.30pm, Friday 6am – 12.30pm.

The role:

Inspect a wide variety of manufactured product, using handheld measuring equipment, vision systems and other associated inspection equipment.
Support production in identifying issues.
Work to standard operating sheets as well as engineering drawings and specification sheets.
Understand all measuring equipment within the department (including micrometres, verniers, height gauges, screw measuring equipment and use of Vision systems).
The ideal candidate:

1 years’ experience of working in a parts inspection environment, ideally with an engineering business (not essential)
To communicate well at a variety of levels (excellent listening skills, verbal, written)
Have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
