Management Accountant

Axon Moore are working with a growing business based in Oldham to recruit an experienced Part-Qualified Management Accountant who will be the assistant to the Financial Controller. They have recently experienced growth and are adding to the team to provide extra support to the FC and the wider team. The business operates in the Financial Services sector, so you will also oversee contracts and payments made to clients.

This role will provide the opportunity to be mentored by a high calibre FC with study support to become ACCA/CIMA qualified. You will be responsible for the monthly management accounts as well as all aspects of the month end process. You will be required to operate in a wide capacity within finance, covering junior and senior members of the team and assisting with some transactional duties such as accounts payable.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 DOE, study support is available with potential for progression in the next 1-2 years, bonus scheme up to 10% of salary, pension with 5% employer contribution, free parking, 25 holidays plus bank holidays, 35 hour working week (9-5 with 1h lunch), several amenities in the area including on-site gym, café, free hot drinks, office socials.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting the FC in the day to day running of the finances for the business.
Ownership and production of the monthly management accounts pack
Balance sheet reconciliation, journal processing and P&L reporting
KPI reports and other financial reporting required by the SLT
VAT and other tax returns
Managing new deals – authorising payout, setting up new agreements on the system and day to day management of these
Supporting with Accounts Payable management
Managing sales and purchase payments, loading receipts to Sage and the management system
Dealing with queries and resolving in a timely manner
Supporting the finance team wherever possible
Audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
Providing cover for any absences in the team
Any ad-hoc work and project work as required
Experience & Skill Requirements:

Previous experience in a Management Accountant role – Financial Services background would be desirable but not essential
Part qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience with experience in a Management Accountant role
Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to analyse data – use of excel will be tested in the interview process
A good team player, willing to help within a small team
Good commercial awareness with good stakeholder management skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner
Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
