Financial Controller

K.A.G. Recruitment have been instructed to support our client, one of the largest Private Label Petfood producers in Europe supplying quality pet products to the major supermarket and retail chains to recruit at their site at IJmuiden in the Netherlands.
Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: IJmuiden, Netherlands
Salary: 80,000 – 85,000 Euros DOE + KPI Bonus, Pension, Healthcare and Travel allowance
Hours: 39 Hours per week
You will be responsible for all aspects of the site’s financial procedures including weekly profitability reporting, month-end closing, cost control, forecasts, budget and other projects as necessary.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for managing the month-end close, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
* Submit accurately and timely weekly financial reports, including P&L and customer profitability reports.
* Investigate variances on an on-going basis and understand deviations from both budget and prior year figures.
* Ensure adequate controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets.
* Constantly check that we are delivering best value for the business and costs are being minimized.
* Work with senior management and provide financial analysis for all business proposals.
* Review balance sheet accounts monthly to confirm proper reconciliation and supporting backup.
* Ensure accurate stock volumes and values at all times.
* Coordinate requests and documentation related to external and internal audits.
* Involvement in process improvement initiatives and establishing best practices.
* Perform other functions as is needed by other departments or senior management.
You will have experience of working with and managing a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. You will have the ability to stay calm and work well under pressure with excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
You will be educated to degree level in Accounting or Finance. You must also be able to demonstrate commercial focus and knowledge of business operations, experience of working within an FMCG environment would also be highly advantageous
